An Ode To Gozo.

Oh Gozo a gem in the Mediterranean sea

you are nestled cozily for all to see

There is no other island to compare

your rugged looking beauty to share

You are sheltered from the rat race

Hope it is not a problem you have to face

Do hold onto good old traditions

don’t be ruined by new fashions

We Gozitans move around at leisure

doing things with such pleasure

In every village there is a church

there is no need for one to search

Smiling faces seen every where

people walking about without a care

Where else can one find such friendliness

A virtue next only to Godliness

You are so full of history

There is also the Calypso mystery

The Dwejra window formed by rocks

is one for nature’s records books

Your shores see some of the prettiest sunsets

even better than any Hollywood film sets

The pageantries are such a treat

Meandering along the decorated street

A small island you may be

but are so pretty as can be

Please don’t succumb to vanity

so all can enjoy your tranquility

May God’s blessing for ever be with you

So we can all enjoy our life living in you.
